Changes in IAS Examination to be held on August 24

IAS preliminary examination is to be conducted on August 24th. The students agitated on imposition of english in the preliminary examination. Since the question paper was set before the agitation, now UPSC has come out with a notification making major changes:

1) CSAT Prelim Paper 1 and Paper 2 will be of 2 hour duration.

2) in Paper II candidates need not attend questions on English. That means the second paper will have aptitude and reasoning only. English questions answers will not be valued.

3) First paper will have 200 marks. Second one 200 marks minus marks allotted for English Comprehension.

4) Final list of selected people will be drawn based on aggregate score of Paper 1 and Paper 2.

best wishes to candidates appearing for the exam.

Students of North India are put in an advantage -- many of them are weak in English.
