SUBJECT: Crime on Agra-Meerut Expressway

Dear Sir, 

             This is to draw your attention to rising crimes against commuters on the route of Delhi –Meerut Expressway. An incident occurred yesterday evening when I was returning home with five friends – 3 girls and 2 boys around 9 pm.   Our  car was followed by a black tinted window Scorpion [ car number: HR 18 K1564] for one kilometer. This continued till we reached the toll.  Near the toll two or three men got down from their car and asked us to open the glass doors of our car and they used abusing words.   Then  we contacted  police personnel and brought it to their notice. The  anti-social elements did not follow us thereafter.   

              It baffles me how can safety of citizens is being overlooked?  There is no proper police patrol in this important National Highway.   If police patrol is increased and CCTV camers are provided at vantage points, this will put anti-social elements on notice and the troubles on account of them will come down.
