9-year-old Indian boy becomes world's youngest certified yoga instructor

A nine-year-old Indian boy has become the world’s youngest certified yoga instructor and created a Guinness World Record. Reyansh Surani, who resides in Dubai, said that he began practising yoga with his parents at the age of four. Reyansh completed his 200 Hour Yoga Teacher's Training Course and received certification from the Anand Shekhar Yoga School last year.

UK's Queen Elizabeth tests positive for COVID-19 at 95

The UK's 95-year-old monarch Queen Elizabeth II has tested positive for COVID-19 and is experiencing mild, cold-like symptoms, Buckingham Palace said on Sunday. The Queen, who has received three doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, will continue with light duties, the Palace said. Her eldest son Prince Charles and daughter-in-law Camilla had recently contracted COVID-19.


Police in Nepal fire tear gas to disperse protest over US grant

Police in Nepal's Kathmandu fired tear gas and water cannons on protesters who took to the streets to oppose a US-funded infrastructure programme that was presented for ratification in parliament on Sunday. Demonstrators rallied against a US government agency's $500 million grant, which would be used to fund civic projects, on grounds that it may undermine Nepal's laws and sovereignty.


All indications Russia on brink of invading Ukraine: US Secy of State

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Sunday said all signs suggested Russia is on brink of invading Ukraine but pledged to use every opportunity to stop Russia from going forth with it. This comes as Russia deployed up to 1.9 lakh troops near Ukraine. President Joe Biden was also prepared to engage with Russian President Vladimir Putin, added Blinken.


India tells families of embassy officials to leave Ukraine: Reports

Amid growing fears of the Russian invasion over Ukraine, India on Sunday told families of its embassy officials to return to the country, as per multiple reports. The Indian embassy in Kyiv had earlier today told all Indian students and Indian nationals whose stay isn't deemed essential to leave Ukraine temporarily. Students were asked to contact their student contractors

BigBasket acquires Kerala-based startup Agrima Infotech

BigBasket, a Tata enterprise, has acquired a Kerala-based startup Agrima Infotech, which was announced by BigBasket CEO Hari Menon on Saturday. BigBasket will utilise Agrima Infotech's customer vision technology platform, Psyight, at the self-checkout counters of its retail stores. Psyight helps identify all Indian fruits and vegetables uniquely from an image without using barcodes.

Amazon, Reliance to compete for IPL telecast rights for a record ₹50,000 cr: Report

Amazon and Reliance Industries are expected to take on Sony Group and Walt Disney's India units for exclusive five-year TV and digital broadcast rights of IPL, Reuters reported on Sunday. The cost to acquire these rights could run to a record ₹50,000 crore, the report added. Disney-owned Star India paid ₹16,348 crore in 2017 to have these rights until 2022.


India win their 9th T20I in a row, complete their 2nd straight T20I series whitewash

India defeated West Indies by 17 runs in the third T20I at Eden Gardens in Kolkata to register a 3-0 series whitewash. With this, India extended their winning streak in T20I cricket to nine matches. Further, India completed their second straight T20I series whitewash after having defeated New Zealand 3-0 in their previous T20I series.
